Teaching Terror in Teaneck?
Radical pro-Hamas activist groups, including elementary and high school teachers, are spreading terrorist propaganda in the heavily Jewish New Jersey town
As everyone’s noticed at this point, major American cities like NYC and LA have been the site of deranged pro-Hamas riots since October 7th. Much less discussed, however, is the existence of pro-Hamas networks in smaller towns that aren’t as attention-grabbing, especially those with large Jewish populations. Once such town is Teaneck, New Jersey.
Due to time constraints and crippling ADD, the following provides just a glimpse into this particular network.
One of the more active pro-terror groups in Teaneck is the aptly-named Teaneck for Palestine (TNP), which is also the first entity I looked at in this town. Some of their greatest hits on social media include glorfying arch-terrorist from the US-designated PFLP terror group Ghassan Kanafani and posting videos that call to “aid the resistance” by “sacrifcing” their soul and blood for Gaza.
TNP also tried to pressure NJ public schools to cancel events with survivors of the 10/7 massacre, because heaven forbid anyone should testify about the atrocities perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists.
TNP also collaborates on events with PFLP front groups Samidoun and its alter ego Masar Badil (also known as the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement). As I mentioned in a prior entry, Samidoun has hosted multiple events with senior Hamas officials since October 7th.
TNP also posted a video from a January 23, 2024 Teaneck Township Council meeting, in which a participant (whom TNP says they “love”) stated that she and her allies will “always support the resistance and salute the resistance….. and glory to our martyrs…. they’re the ones fighting for our freedom and fighting for our resistance.”
Many of TNP’s posts on Instagram are collaborations with another group called Teaching While Muslim.
These teachers aim to radicalize students with anti-Israel and antisemitic propaganda, as seen by the lesson plans and other “educational” content they recommend for K-12 classrooms, including repeated instructions to watch videos produced by the Qatari government-funded Al Jazeera. The National Review has a good rundown of Teaching While Muslim here.
Teaching While Muslim isn’t TNP’s only radical partner. It also often collaborates with Decolonize the Classroom (DTC). Two years ago, the antisemitism watchdog StopAntisemitism wrote about DTC, which is run by a NJ high school teacher named Thuraya Zeidan. Let’s see what Zeidan’s been up to since then.
Quite predictably, Zeidan justified the October 7th massacre. She also collaborated on a post glorifying Khader Adnan, a deceased former prominent member of the US-designated Islamic Jihad terror group famous for supporting suicide bombings. And this woman is a teacher. Zeidan’s Linktree also directs people to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen website and to the homepage of ANOTHER K-12 educator group called Educators for Palestinian Liberation.
This group lists as “resources” Samidoun, the Palestinian Youth Movement (which just hosted a terror conference with Rashida Tlaib) and the U.S. Palestinian Community Network, which was co-founded by infamous PFLP member Rasmea Odeh.
Most disturbingly, Educators for Palestinian Liberation lists the PFLP’s Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine as a “mandatory read.”
At the very least, groups like the ones mentioned above warrant further scrutiny. It is unacceptable that radical teachers are brainwashing the innocent children of New Jersey with terrorist content, and openly collaborating with known fronts for US-designated terrorist organizations.
